"De-clutter and Chill" playlist 🎧 | 2018 | 3/52
This weekend seemed to zoom by. It feels like yesterday was Friday and I was excited to have two full days of free time. Anyway, I spent most of my weekend relaxing and re-organizing my space (and finding things that I thought I'd lost). I have a love-hate relationship with cleaning. I find it tedious, but I have to admit that I'm in a better mood after I tidy up. To help the time pass, I turned on Spotify Radio to keep me company and help distract me while I tackled my chores.
When it comes to music, I always listen to my playlist titled "Repeats", which is filled with songs I can list to on--you guessed it--repeat. The playlist is pretty old and hasn't been updated until today. Here are some of the newest additions to the playlist:
All Night (feat. Knox Fortune) by Chance The Rapper
I'm two years late since this song was released on Chance's 2016 album, but better late than never. The beat is the first thing that I noticed about this song. You can't help but start dancing when you hear it.
Pay My Rent by DNCE
Again, the beat of the song is what drew me to it. I think I'm going through a slight retro phase, since many of these songs are influenced by old school music. This particular song helped me get started on organizing my skincare drawer. I have no idea why they're asking "her" to pay "his" rent. I can only assume it's some metaphor for love 🤷🏾♀️.
- Talking To Myself by Gallant
Weight in Gold is such a good song (and is also on this playlist), so it didn't surprise me when I realized this one was also by Gallant. I love when the bridge comes in because the contrasts in beats really compliments each other. Plus the lyrics are pretty relatable; I'm "earthbound", "scatterbrained" and often too much in my own head.
- Lemon by N.E.R.D. and Rihanna
I've been an N.E.R.D fan since their Fly Or Die album and I've loved Rihanna since her Pon De Replay days, so naturally I was excited when I first heard about this collaboration. I need Rihanna to rap more often! This song is really catchy and I could listen to it on repeat forever 🍋 .
- Living Single by Big Sean, Chance the Rapper and Jeremih
I love the old school hip hop beat of this song and the references to the 90's show Living Single. I honestly laughed a little when Big Sean said his mom started to get his dates mixed up.
I could definitely keep going, but then the post would be way too long to read.
What are some of your new favorite songs?
Feel free to leave them in the comments so I can check them out and keep my playlist updated.
