Weekend Catch-up

Weekend Catch-up

February is finally here! Is it just me, or did January feel like it was 12 weeks long? 31 days has never felt longer!

Anyway, this past weekend I met up with a friend I hadn't talked to in a while to catch each other up on our lives. I'm so happy to see that she's making moves to increase her happiness and get her closer to her goals. I love how much of a go-getter she is! After we said our goodbyes, and promised to stay in touch more often, I met up with another friend who was having cabin fever and wanted to get out of the house. I'm glad she invited me out because most of my weekends are spent indoors during these cold months.

We went to one of the nicer malls in our area and decided to walk around (notice i didn't say "shop"). Apparently Zara was having a crazy sale, so we decided to check it out. I grabbed a couple of things and tried them on, but only settled on a cute grey oversized sweater.

This oversized sweater is so soft and comfy. Definitely good for layering!

I was heading to checkout feeling bummed that I only found one thing I liked when I saw it-- a deep army green jacket with a "faux-fur" collar. I immediately picked it up and took it with me to the line. It was just my luck that the jacket fit me perfectly and allows me to layer large sweaters under it. The hood even had space for my bun, which is incredibly rare (#naturalhairproblems). I can't wait to wear this when I visit NYC in March-- it will definitely keep me warm!

This water-resistant jacket is faux fur-lined with a drawstring at the waist that allows you to give the jacket more shape. There are 3 pockets and the two on the outside are lined with fleece, to keep your hands warm.

After leaving Zara, I somehow found myself in Urban Outfitters. I'm a total sucker for the vibe of that store-- kind of an Anthropologie for the younger crowd. I managed to only leave with one thing, and it was a pair of rhinestone "huggie" hoops.

These look expensive (they aren't) and are good quality.

I  also saw a few things I wanted from Uniqlo, but didn't get them. Hooray for personal restraint! I definitely didn't expect to go shopping this weekend, but it was nice to treat myself to a few things.
